Social Worker Nadia (Sowing Seeds of Support)

After two years at CSLMCH, Social Worker Nadiah Razak delights in her role and finds immense fulfilment in supporting children and youth from diverse backgrounds. Nadia's approach to her role is best described in her own words: "I dedicate a significant portion of my time to conducting home visits.

This allows me to gain a deeper understanding of the children's backgrounds. I also collaborate closely with other professionals from the Family Service Centre (FSC) and psychologists to track the children's progress and provide daily support to them. This support often involves offering social support to create a safe space for them to express their feelings and thoughts.

I also accompany them to external medical appointments and school conferences." Nadia's focus on building solid relationships with the children and ensuring their comfort in confiding in her is a testament to her dedication. She shared, "Witnessing the children overcome challenges and grow into confident individuals is not just rewarding; it's why I do what I do." Nadia added, "I participate in memorable experiences with the children at the Home, such as outdoor programmes and mealtimes; I use these opportunities to bond with them as best I can. Throughout my time here, I work tirelessly to ensure the children develop into their best selves and build deeper bonds with them." When asked about her challenges, she explained, “I know that with the help of my team, we can overcome these challenges together."
